Great tip to wash and rinse the butter in ice water. I didn’t know this. Butter was amazing and far too easy to make. Will be making this every time 🙂

You guys are making this way too hard. Fill a mason jar half way up with heavy cream and shake until you’ve got butter. The solids separate from the liquid using centrifugal force and creates a nice round ball of butter

I over processed it at first and it melted back. The Ninja heated it up. Placed it back on the fridge and back at it again. I stopped after a clump formed about 5-6mins. I strained it with a cheesecloth and placed it in ice cold water. Using the cheesecloth to avoid it from spreading everywhere in the bowl of water and rinsing it and squeezing the liquid out until water was less milky in color. I just put it in a bowl and sprinkled a bit of salt and the butter turned out really good. I will always have fresh whipped butter from now on.

Awesome job I didn’t have to squeeze anything. My first time making it turned out perfect wow. Now I am going to buy more heavy whipping cream, it’s call Prairie Farm (Premium) made local cream. I don’t know what you used. My butter is creamy ok , I have a Ninja blender

I think the recipe should state that there are several ways to do it, but I am a novice at this and still learning! My experience was interesting — I had just bought a new blender, very basic, thinking it would work, but after about ten cycles on what I thought was the highest speed (they’re not marked that way), I figured it wasn’t working and was afraid I’d break it. I added a half-cup cold water and it didn’t make any difference. In reading through a lot of comments, I figured before just accepting that it was going to be whipped cream, I’d try using the electric mixer. I put in on high, as someone else said here, for about 5 minutes, then reduced the speed to the lowest and gave it probably another 7 minutes. I didn’t think anything was going to come of it, but suddenly I began to see liquid and the cream turn yellow. I kept going until there was quite a bit of liquid (probably because I had added some!), and suddenly it looked more like some of the other photos. I tasted it and it was good. I don’t like salted butter so didn’t add any. Next time I’ll do it with just the mixer and no water. I don’t have anything high-tech so strained it with a colander. It might not look great, but we’ll use it, and I cook with buttermilk all the time, so that will be gone soon!

Loved! So easy, so rewarding, sooo delicious! I used Organic Valley heavy whipping cream n a Cuisinart food processor. Took all of just a few minutes. Once it separated I poured the buttermilk out then gently squeezed the butter to rid the excess. I wish I could upload more photos! The large round was portioned into thirds for maple, honey and sea salt variety.
