Simple Overnight Buckwheat Parfait

All of these warm spring mornings have brought again my cravings for no-cook dinner parfaits. Parfaits are one of my favorite summer time meals simply because they are just about easy, don’t need a stove, and are different each time I make them.

These days, I have been having fun with this breakfast fairly a bit and it only dawned on me lately that perhaps I should really share it with you. Alright, nicely I knew I desired to share it with you, but my real dilemma was stopping myself from inhaling it before I could snap some images! It was almost nothing small of a wonder that I restrained myself enough this early morning to snap a couple pics.

At night time, I soak raw buckwheat groats in drinking water individually from the chia seed, almond milk, and banana combination. I did this for the reason that buckwheat groats get tremendous slimy when soaked and I needed to be ready to rinse them incredibly effectively before incorporating them to my breakfast. Soaking also helps make it additional digestible, but be certain to seriously chew the buckwheat. It’s simple to just swallow it down and then it doesn’t digest perfectly, if you catch my drift.

Immediately after rinsing the buckwheat in the morning, I stirred it into my chia mixture. The soaked buckwheat remains crunchy and presents the right away mixture a completely diverse texture than typical overnight oats. Intellect you, it’s not crunchy in a break-your-tooth kinda way, but crunchy-gentle if that tends to make any sense.

If you want, you can toss your toppings on and appreciate it in a bowl or you can layer it into a parfait like I did this morning. Whatsoever floats your boat!

In today’s parfait:

  • overnight buckwheat mixture
  • blueberries
  • strawberries
  • sliced banana
  • crumbled up Rustic Banana Oat Cake (created it yesterday and considered it would be awesome in here…it was!)
  • cashew nut butter
  • Strawberry nut product
  • Maple syrup drizzled on top

I tried hard to make my layers very for the digital camera. 🙂

Other matters you can include into your own parfait:

  • granola
  • crumbled up muffins/loaves
  • crumbled up granola bars
  • nuts/seeds
  • nut or seed butter
  • apple/pumpkin butter
  • dried fruit
  • shredded coconut
  • other fresh fruits
  • smoothies
  • banana smooth serve
  • carob powder
  • mini dark chocolate chips
  • selfmade chocolate sauce
  • chocolate avocado pudding
  • protein powder
  • and so forth
